At 15:31 our monitoring detected a fault with an aggregation switch in our 60 Airedale Street colocation facility (formerly, ICONZ). This fault impacted a small portion of clients in the datacentre resulting in varying amounts of packet loss to/from certain destinations. As impact was limited, our engineering staff have spent time carefully restoring the impacted services to avoid creating a wider issue. Our datacentre is built with N+1 switching and redundancy so we have been able to remove the faulted switch from service.
At 22:00 we will begin restorative actions designed to confirm the integrity of the faulted switch, replace parts as required, and return it to service to restore resiliency. We will perform tests during this period to detect any issues that arise from reintroducing the switch to operation and will rollback this change rapidly if required to ensure continued connectivity.
